However, prolonged heat can weaken the sealant. If you do this often, be sure to reapply sealants more frequently.

VISTONE collects discarded glass bottles & containers from bars, businesses, beach clean-ups and donations throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands. We welcome customers to collect their own glass pieces to further customize & personalize an order.

Each VISTONE surface is made to order. From an order being finalized to installed takes a minimum of three weeks. Dry time alone for a single slab can be anywhere between one and four weeks – depending on the size, thickness and makeup of the composite.

Certain color blends, glass choices and workload will also impact timing – our team will be able to advise you before you place your order!

MAINTENANCE & CARE

VISTONE surfaces are made from 85% glass, which is completely impervious to stains, and then sealed on installation for ultimate protection.

The surface should be wiped clean using a damp cloth. For dried rings or spots, use mild liquid soap or detergent with a damp cloth.

We recommended you have your VI Stone surface resealed once a year to keep it in optimal condition. For additional protection, especially on surfaces in high-trafficked areas, we also recommend applying a coat of marble wax every six months.

To best maintain the finish, we recommend applying a marble polish two or three times a year.

85% of a a VI STONE surface is glass, which is completely impervious to stains. However, the following products may stain the surface if not cleaned up quickly:

  • Acids (like red wine, lemon juice, and vinegar) may eat into the surface
  • Staining substances (like coffee and tea) may leave discoloration

** Much like marble, granite and concrete – as you live with and enjoy your counter over time –  many prefer the character of the patina that develops on a surface cleaned less rigorously.
